Ongoing Affiliate Marketing Training

afilate training

Learning affiliate marketing is not something that happens after you read one blog post, or buy one course, or absorb and implement a video tutorial. It’s an on-going process that evolves over time.

You want to think of affiliate marketing as a continuing education system where you’re always learning, always bettering, and always improving your conversion rates. And that will help your earnings soar. So here’s some of the places you find this help

Learn from a wide variety of people.

Yes, over time you’ll have your favorite teachers to learn from – but it’s important t see what kind of golden nuggets other instructors can share that might resonate well with you.

Tackle different styles of affiliate marketing.

If you’re only in tangible marketing, why not try to learn how to add digital affiliate marketing to the mix – or vice versa? Or if you’re only using Amazon, why not figure out how to add Commission Junction?

Learn how to advance and tweak your strategies.

Never just stick with a beginner’s mindset. You want to learn how to really click with your visitors. So let’s say you feel like you know how to write a product review.

You might be doing just fine with it. But wouldn’t you like to add more conversions, regardless? Who wouldn’t? So learn about how to connect with customers, how to build trust with an audience, and so on. Really expand your learning process to the outer edges.

Test the results of more than one method.

Don’t stick with making comparison tables in blog post after blog post – even if it’s working for you. Branch out and learn other methods, like top 10 lists for example.

Understand that the web changes.

What may have worked to get you traffic and sales two years ago could be highly obsolete today. You want to keep your pulse on the market and see how trends have evolved.

When video marketing hit the scene, it was an incredible edge some affiliates had over their text-only affiliate competitors because they were able to build trust quickly and easily – and reach more prospects because of YouTube.

Try to invest in several different styles of teaching.

A downloadable course is one method. But have you looked into affiliate marketing memberships where you can interact with other affiliates and share strategies?

Find a mentor

How about paying for a few sessions with an affiliate marketing mentor or coach? That way they could specifically analyze your efforts and help you make headway with your promotions and profits.

Quick Affiliate Marketing Research Tips

affilate marketing tipsSometimes when you’re launching a new business, especially an online affiliate business when you’re doing it all alone, it can feel overwhelming not knowing how to find the best path to profits. You have to know how to research niches and products and people and keywords. It’s enough to make anyone throw up their hands in frustration.

So I’ll share with you some easy tips to help you conduct your research.

Competition

Researching niches is a piece of cake. What you’re looking for is competition. Some people will look at competition and feel like there’s no way they could go up against the other sites.

But competition actually means it’s a healthy niche – with room for everyone. If you find a niche that no one’s selling in, then it probably means there’s no interest in – and that should set off warning bells for you.

Bookshelves

Look on bookshelves in your local Barnes and Noble to see what non-fiction topics have plenty of resources. Glance at the covers of the women’s magazines at the checkout stand the next time you buy groceries.

You’ll see everything from insomnia to nutrition and more. They’re good about showcasing trendy topics, too – niches that are just now growing big enough for major publications to pick up on them.

Trending News

News sites give lots of good insight into trends within a niche, too. Most major news sites like FoxNews and CNN have categories for science, technology, health and more. Look at those to stay abreast of what’s happening in your niche.

Also, set up a Google Alert so that you get news and information delivered straight to your inbox whenever something happens – or in a digest version if you want to check it sparingly.

Product Research

Product research is sometimes a bit more in depth. You first want to go to sites like Ubersuggest or Power Suggest Pro and see what kinds of things your audience wants to know about the product. Type in the product name or niche topic and get hundreds of results that help steer you in the right direction.

Then, go to the manufacturer’s website and see what the specs are on the product. You can even download instruction manuals to read more details about it and share that with your visitors.

If it’s something you can find locally, don’t be afraid to go into your store and look at the product and jot down some notes. You can even take some pictures or a video to put on your blog.

People Research

Researching people is easy if you trace their social media accounts. Look at their blog and the interaction they have with people (if you’re promoting an info product). Look at their Twitter account, their Google Plus and Facebook, too.

Keyword research is a cinch with free and paid tools that are available to you. Ubersuggest again is a great tool, but you can also invest in paid tools like Power Suggest Pro and Market Samurai that show you the competition and profit potential of a niche.

Growing Your Affiliate Market Presence

affiliate conversionsOnce you learn the basics of affiliate marketing and have a few successes, you’ll want to know about expanding your profits. You’re going to hear a lot of people repeat the phrase, “wash, rinse, repeat” and trust me it can get irritating and frustrating as it infers that creating one successful affiliate marketing site places you on easy street.

Wash – Rinse – Repeat

What it really means, is that once you start seeing success with your current tactics, you’ll want to replicate them and make more money. There are a few ways you can do this as an affiliate marketer looking for growth.

First, you can go into more niche markets. If you know that your strategies are working in the parenting niche, for example, you can expand into another niche like parenting and fitness. Just remember, you must have plenty of time to manage the number of sites you create. [Read more…]

Want to Know the Best Way for Affiliate Marketers to Choose a Niche?

what nicheWhen it comes to affiliate marketing, there are many ways for affiliate marketers to choose a niche. It’s important that you put some thought and research into your niche before you put your time and effort into it. Power Suggest Pro is my favorite keyword research tools these days.

1 – The first thing you should consider is choosing a niche that you feel passionate about. With affiliate marketing it’s best to be writing and working in an area daily. If you don’t enjoy what you’re doing, chances are slim that you’ll stick to it for very long.

If you choose something that isn’t going to make you happy to wake up and work each morning, then you’re in a bad position before you even get started. Over time, if you don’t enjoy what you’re doing, you’ll get bored. [Read more…]

Getting Paid as an Affiliate Marketer

affiliate marketingThis is probably one of your very first questions and let me tell you with some programs it’s not always easy to find a direct answer. As an affiliate marketer you work hard to make a commission and of course, you want your payments (link to #10) as soon as humanly possible. But not all networks or product owners pay out at the same rate.

Third Party Sites

Sites like Zujava pay out two months after the commissions are earned and their pay dates are usually around the middle of the month. Amazon pays out in a similar manner, paying out two months after commissions are made but their pay dates are at the end of the month. So let me explain – if you have a really good month in December for Christmas sales, you won’t see those funds until February. [Read more…]

7 Affiliate Marketing Companies Smart Affiliate Marketers Know

affiliate marketing companiesAs an affiliate marketer, there are many companies that offer commissions for promoting products.  But there are seven specific affiliate marketing companies you should know that have a great reputation and many products to choose from.

Each of these operates in the United States and some in multiple countries. If you don’t live in the U.S. be sure to look into your local affiliate marketing companies as well.

  1. Amazon

Amazon may quite possibly be the most popular affiliate program and it can be rather profitable too. You can earn commissions by promoting a wide variety of products available on their site, and the sign up process is quick and easy.

Amazon overs everything from books and bedding – gaming devices to kids toys – cooking equipment to groceries – and everything in between. Plus they provide you with ready-made banners and share links for adding directly to your site.

  1. ClickBank

ClickBank is a super popular site for smart affiliate marketers as it offers a variety of affiliate programs for digital products, not tangible products. Through ClickBank, you can promote eBooks and guides as well as video courses and membership sites and get this – earn as much as a 50% commission or more – some of the highest in the industry.  It’s easy to sign up as an affiliate and begin promoting products right away.

By signing up with these top affiliate marketing companies, you can leverage the network they already have in place to promote products.  You’ll get access to tools such as banner ads and affiliate links to make product promotion easy. Some even supply you with editable email letters for your campaigns and graphics for social media marketing.

  1. Commission Junction

Commission Junction (now CJ Affiliate by Conversant) is affiliate marketing company that has been in business for years and is one of the top. They have numerous top brand advertisers representing many different products and niches to choose from.

Commission Junction offers you a network of large companies to work with once you’re accepted, but because of its size and reputation, it can be difficult to get accepted initially.  So be patient because once you’re accepted, it can be very profitable.

  1. JVZoo

JVZoo is an affiliate program that many people love because it pays commissions immediately to your PayPal account once you prove you’re not a scammer. While most affiliate programs have a waiting period of up to 60 days for payments, that’s not the case with JVZoo – here you get immediate access to commissions.

The sign up process is simple and gives you access to many products to promote across a number of niches but mostly the vast Internet Marketing niche. Typically you promote a product by writing a review or recommendation and then send your visitor straight to the product sales page to make the sale.

  1. Linkshare

Linkshare (now Rakuten Affiliate Network) was one of the first affiliate networking companies established.  It has a simple process for signing up and once you’re accepted, you have access to a large number of companies for product promotion. Like Commission Junction, very large companies are included and they are even rated on their performance and commission structure. You can search by niche topic or top sellers.

  1. Share A Sale

ShareASale is very similar to LinkShare in that they too are an affiliate networking company. Their affiliate programs allow you to select from a large network of over 2,500 merchants whose products you can promote. They’re known for being ethical, easy to use, and provides many resources for promoting on your own blog or other type of website.

  1. Warrior Plus

Warrior Plus is the affiliate program that promotes items being sold in the popular Internet marketing Warrior Forum. As a smart affiliate marketer you should join the Warrior Forum if you have not already. This allows you to promote Warrior Special Offers, also known as WSOs.  It uses PayPal to deliver funds and has a simple registration process.
