Just Another Friday

Today is March 26th – so I did a quick little search to find some tidbit of this day in history interesting events. Seems it’s not a big news day but did you know this:

  • 1866 – The first ambulance service began
  • 1922 – The first microfilm device was introduced (have you seen any microfilm lately?)
  • 1964 – A 9.2 earthquake rattled Prince William Sound, Alaska (my maternal grandmother was living in Anchorage at the time and shared many an unnerving story)
  • 1979 – Nuclear accident at Three Mile Island

Only time will tell what will go down in history as news develops today.

Here in Washington State we are mindful of the recovery efforts for so many who are still missing in one of the largest mudslides ever to occur. It basically wiped at the small town of Oso and at this time 90 people are still missing.

Okay enough with the news – On a lighter note I bring you this week’s Fab Friday Blog Share –

  1. Great shares this week Marilyn. I loved the one for generating 100 blog titles. That was great!

  2. What an interesting post! I’ve been around long enough to remember several of the Alaska earthquake ( I was in high school) and Three Mile Island. I’m definitely going to check out a couple of links to articles that I’m interested in. Thanks for putting everything together.

  3. I watched a TV show recently on Junior Paramedics.

Although the first ambulance service was started in 1866, the first paramedic service wasn;t until the 1980’s i think. Before then it was just a “scoop and Go” service.

  4. I’m going to check out the 100 titles on the same topic. Sounds interesting! Thanks for sharing the link!

    • You’ll like the article Bonnie. While I’m not much of a fan of title generators, I do like his idea of using placeholders. Hope you enjoy it!
