How to Get Blog Visitors To Stay

Funny-BabyIn this week’s Fab Friday Blog Share I want to remind you about a couple of ways on how to get visitors to stay on your blog longer. We know that when visitors find something of interest on your blog they are more apt to read an entire post. I mean entirely, all the way to the end! They may skim parts but they stay for at least a minute or two.

When they do, they may be inclined to share it (I suggest you share this post), or they may choose to read a few more articles. Again this keeps them on your site longer which is great for connecting with them and for search engine ranking.

So how do you increase the odds that your visitors will stay on your site longer?

With images

Yep, images convert, that is images that are catchy, engaging, humorous, or informative.

Tip #1 Add an Image at the Start of Your Blog Post

When you look through the various posts here on this site you will see that I always add a topic pertinent image to the first sentence of each post. This makes the post more appealing. Plus if you have a long post, add another image or two throughout the post to break up the text. There is nothing more boring than reading lines and lines of text.

Tip #2 Use Infographics

Infographics are a bloggers dream resource. They are a super way to engage your readers, get them to stay on your site longer, and convey a ton of information in a friendly yet skim able manner.

Remember you have roughly 30 seconds to convince your visitor to stay on your site so your first paragraph should be a grabber and adding infographics works like a magnet. Now creating your own infographics can be time consuming and hiring someone to create them for you can be pricey, so I have a super solution for you.
