A Real Life Experiment for Searching Out Your Niche Audience

binoculars240I’ve been reading articles and watching videos lately explaining the various methods for finding your niche audience and connecting with them. You probably already know that no matter what niche you are in, you must get to know your audience in order to talk to them through your blog.

You must research to find what they search for, what they need answers to, so that you can know their problems and desires, basically their hearts and souls. The deeper you dig, the more you’ll be able to connect with them.

So I thought I would run what I guess you could call an experiment for this blog and share with you some of my findings. My focus here with Marilyn Thompson Solutions is to help you become a better blogger and to help you make money with your blog. If you’re in the same niche, well you can thank me because I’ll be doing your research for you. : )

This is how I intend for this experiment to play out.

  • For each blog post in this series I’ll select a niche audience search method and reveal various questions related to my niche topic.
  • I’ll add my commentary as to what I thought of the process and if/how it appeared to be beneficial in helping me identify with my audience.
  • I’ll first be looking to find people asking questions about blogging to identify topics for solving their problem.
  • And second I’ll be looking for ideas on how to monetize a “build a better blog” site.

Keep in mind I haven’t done any of this research yet so it may simply be a fun reality show to watch me fall on my face. If I do, rest assured that I’ll brush myself off and chalk it up as a learning lesson. Most importantly I’d really like to hear feedback from you regarding my findings. You may not be in the same niche as me but the methodology can work the same.

Now just so you don’t think I’ve gone into creating this blog without doing any research because yes, naturally I have but not quite in this manner. What I mean is that I will be working through the recommended resources that have been mentioned in the articles and videos I checked out recently.

I know many of you have done very similar research and will have certainly ventured to sites I’ll reveal. But hopefully you’ll stick around and add any tips or opinions of your own efforts in the comments so we all can benefit a bit from each other. Who knows this venture may work out so well that I’ll decide to add it to a future Kindle book and you’ll get recognition in the dedication or possibly one of the riveting chapters.
