5 Powerful Mindset Success Strategies

cartoon-businessman-successBuilding a successful Work at Home Internet business is a fantastic and challenging experience.  There are days when you are amazed at how much you were able to complete and others that leave you feeling overwhelmed and frustrated.  Yes, I said it, but it happens to everyone at some point or another. What decides the difference?

Having a Positive, “Yes You Can”, Mindset

Now I’m not saying everyday will be super productive and that if you start chanting some kind of mantra that the riches will start rolling in. It doesn’t work like that no matter what certain sleazy marketers try to get us to believe. Building a successful business is hard work and it takes time.

But the deciding factor is your mindset. It truly is all about your outlook and your attitude. Simply put – if you believe you can – then you can. To coin the words of psychologist Joyce Brothers, “”Success is a state of mind. If you want success, start thinking of yourself as a success”.

It is all about mindset!

So how do you maintain this success attaining mindset?  By following five success strategies- let me outline them for you here –

1. Surround Yourself with Successful and Positive People

How do you feel when you’re in the company of negative people? You know, those who always find some kind of excuse for not completing some task or achieving some goal. It starts bringing you down – right?

So I say, stay clear of them, they do not belong in your business circle – even if they are friends and family. And this includes people you interact with online and in social media. We may not physically connect with these people, but they can certainly influence our mindset.

The influence people have over our own personal energy is amazing.  Moods and attitudes are so easily spread – think about how much of a difference a simple smile from a stranger can make for your day. When you have people around you who inspire you, believe in you and want you to succeed, there’s no room for doubts and even when they creep in, you have the power to sweep them away.

2. Decorate Your Work Area with Positive Affirmations

I’m an avid believer in sustaining positive thinking by placing uplifting quotes and wall art in your office and work area. Simply find words that resonate with you and place them where you will easily see them. These can be your own words, those of recognized individuals, or a combination of both. Motivational speakers earn big bucks reminding us over and over of the amazing power of positive affirmations.

When reaching for your own words they need not be grand insightful words of wisdom. Simply state something to the effect of “I am building a powerful and profitable business” and repeat it until you feel the power of positive thinking and it becomes your mindset.

3. Capture Your Negative Thoughts
We all have negative thoughts from time to time. If we allow it, these negative thoughts and emotions can derail our best intentions and prevent us reaching goals. So I say, capture them.

Capture them and figuratively place them in a paper bag and toss them out. Identifying negative thoughts may take practice and persistence, but try it. When you find yourself thinking negative thoughts or having negative emotions, find a trigger to turn them around.  Look back at your positive affirmations, find a favorite quick pick me up song, and take a walk outside to clear the air, or try exercising to help improve your attitude.

goals4. Reassess Your Goals
Sometimes we set our sights so high that our goals are simply not attainable in the timeframe we have set. Be kind to yourself and take a realistic look at your goals as a big picture and then with a shorter daily and weekly focus.

Make your goals attainable and you will succeed. Allow yourself to savor the rewarding moments when it all seemed to come together. Then take a look at what may have made the difference and focus on that. The law of attraction says that we attract what we focus on the most.

Have faith in yourself, believe in your abilities, and focus on your strengths.

5. Be Grateful
Gratitude is perhaps the single most powerful and positive tool for success.  When you’re grateful for all of the wonderful things and people in your life the challenges you face seem significantly less important and are more easily dealt with.

Consider keeping a gratitude journal and make a practice of entering into it daily.  That way, when you’re facing challenges a quick peek at all the amazing things in your life will make you feel as if you can tackle anything.  Additionally, an attitude of gratitude helps you maintain a positive perspective and to face challenges as opportunities rather than obstacles.

Building a successful “Yes You Can” mindset is within your reach and with the right attitude you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Toss over these five powerful mind success strategies and you’ll build a fruitful business.

  1. I love good positive posts! You made some good points, Marilyn. For me, the best one was “Capture your negative thoughts”. Most people don’t do that – we let them drift, fester and stop us doing what we should be doing.
    Good one

  2. Awesome advice again Marilyn. #1 is my absolute favorite and something I started doing years ago. I used to surround myself with many different types of people and some where just toxic to be around, yet I stayed. Finally one day I woke up and thought “why am I hanging around with such a negative person”? Now I make it a point to only build relationships with people who are positive, like minded and successful individuals. It does wonders for your attitude in life.

  3. Hi Marilyn, found your site through a link you left on the Article Writing Challenge group. I agree with your mindset strategies. I love suggestion #2. I’m always looking for inspirational decor. I have so many cheery decorations that it makes work fun. 🙂
